This Saturday, April 18, the closing ceremony will take place with an official event, of the VI Biennial of the South “Peoples in Resistance”, which is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the National Cinematheque, located in Fine Arts, after six months in which thousands of visitors explored the political and cultural struggles of the Peoples of the Global South.

Under the slogan “The Power of Diversity”, this edition consolidated its presence in Caracas through an agenda extended to communities, highlighted on its website the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture.

The proposal went beyond traditional museum limits to integrate contemporary art with the collective memory of the People, a strategy that allowed regional identity to be the real protagonist throughout the semester of the exhibition.

The event was highlighted by training activities such as the Aesthetic Thinking Encounter and the debut of the Regional Meeting of Emerging Art.

In this regard, more than 100 guided tours, cine-forums and muralist interventions were carried out that strengthened the exchange of artistic knowledge. These parallel initiatives offered a solid platform for critical debate and the training of new creators.

This international contemporary art event showcases established artists with children's talents, researchers and community spokespersons in a space for dialogue.

The ministerial body points out that this closure reaffirms the commitment to art as a tool of resistance and permanent social transformation.
