The Venezuelan sports shooting team won 15 places for the Central American and Caribbean Games, Santo Domingo 2026.

The places were won in the shotgun qualifiers recently held in the Dominican Republic, and the rifle and pistol qualifier that took place in San Salvador this weekend, according to the Ministry of Sports press.

Among those classified in the Dominican Republic is the experienced shooter, Maribel Pineda, who achieved 12th place and scored a total of 550 points in the final 10-meter air gun test.

In addition, they also won the country quota: Verónica Lozada, sixth in 25 meters pistol with a personal mark of 563 points; Julio Iemma, number 11 in the 10-meter air rifle with 613.7 points; and Nicole Saavedra, ninth in the 10-meter air gun with a score of 551.

In San Salvador, Santiago Niño also won his ticket to the CAC after breaking the national youth record in the 50-meter 3-position rifle test with 603.8 points, which he had set on August 2, 2025

In turn, Douglas Gómez grazed the Central American podium, finishing fourth in the 25-meter quick-shooting pistol with 570 points.
