As part of the preparatory activities for the second edition of the Festival Alegría con Nombre de Mujer, the first training meeting was held, bringing together creators, cultivators and artists from the Capital District and the states of Miranda and La Guaira. The event took place in the auditorium of the Bolivarian Society of Venezuela, a recently restored space that served as a meeting point to deepen the history, dynamics and sensitivity of various artistic disciplines.
Jacqueline Pérez, secretary of vertex 2 of the Great Venezuela Women's Mission (GMVM), stressed that this initiative seeks to ensure that participants not only show their talent in different cultural areas, but also strengthen their technical and theoretical knowledge.
During this first day, efforts focused on three specific areas: oral narrative, dance and theater. Pérez recalled that the festival schedule began with the official launch in homage to the renowned Venezuelan singer-songwriter Lilia Vera, and explained that the training phase will last until June 29, and then give way to the communal phase, with direct work in the popular sectors.
The day was accompanied by Somar Toro, cultural advisor and professor at the National Experimental University of the Arts (Unearte), who, in his role as trainer and stage interpreter, guided the attendees in mastering space and developing tools for theater and oral narration. The specialist emphasized the importance of women acquiring skills to tell their own stories, using art as a channel with purpose, identity and critical awareness.
For their part, Venezuelan dance and tradition played a leading role with the participation of Tahis García, a cultor, specialist in the area and professor at UNEARTE. García shared with the attendees fundamental knowledge about the country's traditional manifestations and about the way in which they are expressed and preserved through movement and dance, thus strengthening a comprehensive training proposal rooted in national identity.
Finally, Jacqueline Pérez pointed out that this first meeting consolidated a space for connection and awareness where women demonstrated their commitment to the defense of the homeland from the cultural trench. With the artistic tools received, the participants are now preparing to become multipliers in their respective localities, bringing the magic, stories and emotions of the Festival Alegría con Nombre de Mujer to the heart of the communities.
