Agropecuaria La Perla consolidates Trujillo state as the largest
banana producer in Venezuela, in the La Ceiba municipality of the state, from where it ships up to 12 containers of fresh fruit
weekly to the central and eastern regions of the country.
This agro-industrial infrastructure projects entry into the
nation through formal exports to demanding international
markets in Europe and Asia, such as Belgium and Türkiye.
“We project 60 tons per year to achieve the
global goal of one million 20-kilogram boxes in our first
300-hectare block,” explained the general manager of agriculture, Juan Vera, who explained
that the planned expansion to 2,000 hectares for the next seven years will
generate a thousand containers per year per phase.
The corporation's financial leverage has the strategic
support of the national and regional Executive, ensuring economic
viability and generating more than 300 direct local jobs, according to a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Communication and Information.
“Agropecuaria La Perla consolidates the first part of its banana
project, which successfully supplies the domestic market,” said the
governor of Trujillo, Gerardo Márquez, during the technical inspection of the company,
in which he formally authorized the development of 300 additional hectares,
backed by the successful record of 240 tons already exported to Europe.
