Faced with threats of violence from the extreme
right, ahead of the presidential elections on July 28, this
Thursday, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela
(PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that the revolutionary people
have learned and will not stand idly by.
“The right wing today tries to manipulate by saying that on the 28th the result
doesn't matter, they and that they are going to Miraflores. We too
are going to Miraflores, we'll see each other there,” Cabello said during a
massive rally in support of the country's candidate, Nicolás
Maduro, in Valera, Trujillo state.
He said that “they say and threaten us and they believe that
we are going to be left with our arms crossed. That time passed, that was
in the year 89, when the Caracazo, that was in 2002 that we stayed so
calm and the Commander (Hugo Chávez) called for dialogue and already today, 25 years after the Bolivarian Revolution came to power with
the people, we have learned and know how to defend the Homeland and how to
defend the things we have achieved”.
In this regard, the senior leader of the red awning confirmed
that in the coming elections “we are going to achieve a great victory and Trujillo will be
the spearhead of that great national victory, I have no doubt”.
