The players of the Chelsea Football Club were left with a replica of the Club World Cup of the International Football Association (FIFA), after the President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, appropriated the original trophy after being awarded by the international sports body.

“They said, 'Can you keep this trophy for a brief moment? ' We'll put it in the Oval Office,” Trump revealed, adding that he asked “When are they going to pick up the trophy?” , to which they replied: “We're never going to pick it up, you can keep it forever in the Oval Office, we'll make a new one.”

Last Sunday, the US president was booed during the final of the competition held at MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey, when he went to award the medals to the players; however, he stayed on the field with the athletes while they celebrated.

“They told me I was going to present the trophy and then I would leave the field (...) but I wanted to stay,” said Chelsea captain Reece James.
