The US president, Donald Trump, described his “reduced format” meeting in Alaska with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, as “extremely productive”, while the president of the Russian Federation said it was “constructive”.
“A lot of points were agreed upon,” said the White House magnate. “That's important. One is probably the most significant. We have a very good chance of achieving that. We can't do it now, but the chances are high. I would like to thank President Putin and his entire team,” he added, quoted by the international press.
For his part, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, stated that the negotiations took place in a constructive environment of mutual respect. In addition, the Russian leader invited his American counterpart to hold a meeting in Moscow in response to his words to meet again.
“We'll talk to you shortly and we 'll probably see each other again very soon. Thank you very much, Vladimir,” Trump replied, during the joint press conference. “In Moscow,” Putin immediately answered, in perfect English.
