Türkiye declares national mourning for the death of Ismail Haniyeh

This Friday, the president of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, declared a day of national mourning for the death of the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS), Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated by Israel in Tehran while attending the swearing in of the new president of the Persian nation, Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Turkish president said: “To show our support for the Palestinian cause and our solidarity with our Palestinian brothers, a day of national mourning has been declared due to the martyrdom of the president of the Political Bureau of Hamas.”
In addition, the director of Religious Affairs of Türkiye, Ali Erbas, assured that the day of national mourning will be propitious to recite azalá, the Muslim prayer, in all mosques.
