The top Venezuelan figures have ratified the records that will take them to the next month of August at the U20 Oregon 2026 universal joust, within the framework of the National Athletics Championship of the category and qualifier for the National Youth Games held at the Brígido Iriarte Stadium in Caracas.

The national event celebrated the opening two days this Friday, where the best performances were obtained in the speed and medium distance tests, according to the specialized press.

The Guairense sprinter Waleska Ortiz led the overall classification in the 400 meters, recording 54.72 as the fastest time of the five series contested for the definition of the race.


In addition, in the decisive rounds of the men's 400 meters, the Carabobeño Yoneiber Moreno revalidated his status as champion of the category, registering 47.05, improving by 17 hundredths of a second the previous personal record of 47.22, which awarded him the ticket to the American youth universal match on March 29, during the first stop of the National Athletics League.

The podium in this race was completed by his teammate Richard Peña, in second place, with 47.95, and the Mirandino Luis Fuentes, with 48.76, in third place.

For his part, the distance runner from Sucrense Marlon Patiño achieved the best time in the final stage of the 1,500 meters with a record of 4:00.98, thanks to a controlled pace in the opening laps and a strong shot in the final stages of the race.
