The Secretary of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres, calls for an investigation after the murder of 75 hungry Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid at a distribution point in Gaza.

“It's unacceptable that Palestinians risk their lives for food (...) I demand an immediate and independent investigation into these events and that those responsible be held to account,” said the head of the UN.

The Israeli occupying army has so brazenly denied attacking civilians, claiming that its soldiers fired “warning shots” at individuals who “posed a threat”.

Another 400 citizens were injured while queuing up to receive food at an aid distribution site, operated since May 27 by the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), backed by the United States and Israel, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported.

“The Israeli army opened fire on civilians who were trying to get any kind of food aid without any warning,” Al Jazeera confirmed from Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.
