UN Rapporteur urged the EU to adopt an arms and oil embargo against Israel

This Wednesday, the special rapporteur of the United Nations (UN) for the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, urged the European Union (EU) to adopt an arms and oil embargo against Israel, among other measures, to stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip.

In Brussels, Albanese presented his non-binding report “Anatomy of Genocide” to MEPs and the media, in which he explains reasonable reasons to believe that the Israeli occupiers have committed genocidal acts in Gaza, such as the mass murder of civilians.

The commission of deliberate acts to physically destroy a population such as using hunger as a weapon and the encouragement given to these crimes by government authorities, military and other exponents of Zionism.

The expert called on the EU to act with conscience and humanity, not to be complicit in the massacre in Gaza and to decree an arms embargo that would force an immediate and permanent ceasefire.

Since October 7 of last year, 33,482 people have been murdered, 70 percent of them women and children.
