From the spaces of the Casa del Sol, a memorandum of understanding was signed that launches the comprehensive restoration project of Santa Ana de Coro and its Puerto de La Vela, declared a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1993.
This initiative is funded by the UNESCO Emergency Fund for Heritage, which will be managed by the Santos Innocentes Locos de La Vela Foundation. 29 historic structures -11 in Coro and 18 in La Vela- will be rehabilitated, using traditional adobe construction methods and clay techniques, ensuring respect for the authenticity and original value of the buildings.
The activity was led by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Raúl Cazal; the governor of Falcón, Víctor Clark and other personalities.
Cazal highlighted the
joint effort between the Venezuelan State and the organized people. “The government
has worked, invested and has achieved positive results.
Everything that is being done right now in Revolution is collective...
We are people who work, who live in peace and who have the
possibility of building a future for their sons and daughters,” he said.
