The National University of the Communes (UNACOM) began the first cycle of counterhegemonic workshops for the sovereignty of the country, with the participation of spokespersons from 18 communes of the Pueblos Caribes Caracas-La Guaira highway corridor, during a day of awareness-raising and recruitment designed to awaken academic interest in the grassroots and mobilize the community towards training.
From the Center for Endogenous Development Fabricio Ojeda, in Catia, Caracas, the rector of the University, Jorge Arreaza, explained that the Communes can help a lot in generating interest in future students to help in solving their own needs as organized communities.
“It matters to us that they are complying with the plan, with the Concrete Agenda for Action (ACA) and they are generating knowledge, they are generating lights there, in order to truly be able to build a new society,” he said, stressing that UNACOM is an institution to train the people in the territory through its ACA, its communal development, its knowledge map, to strengthen leadership in the Communes.
The UNACOM program has 19 training areas, with tools and knowledge for People's Power, for strategic planning and problem solving. In addition, the training focuses on the Seventh Transformation (7T) as an engine for the comprehensive defense of the territory, with the link of grassroots leadership to ensure the continuity of the revolutionary model in organized communities.
