The United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA), reported that the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip keeps fuel supply at a critically low level, making humanitarian operations in the enclave even more difficult.
In this regard, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA) reported that more than 2,700 children in Gaza were the most affected, as they suffer from acute malnutrition due to difficult access to food resources.
“The crisis has reached unprecedented levels of desperation while people continue to go hungry in Gaza,” UNRWA said.
The number of children with severe acute malnutrition requiring hospital admission also roughly doubled during the month of May compared to previous months, according to a report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
