The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Thursday that commercial air traffic to and from Venezuela will be restored shortly, after a telephone conversation with the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez.
During a cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump said he had informed Rodriguez of the decision to reopen trade routes. “I informed him that we would open commercial airspace over Venezuela. Very soon citizens will be able to travel and those who wish to return will have that route,” he said.
He indicated that the reopening could take place before the end of the day. He also highlighted the exchange with the Venezuelan State and affirmed that the bilateral relationship is progressing in a stable manner. “I want to thank Venezuela's leadership. The relationships have been very strong,” he said.
Trump reiterated that Americans will soon be able to travel to Venezuela and that they will be able to do so in safe conditions.
