Last Wednesday, the International Trade Court of the United States (USA) declared almost all tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump to be illegal and prohibited him from imposing new tariffs on the US president.

The decision of the judicial body comes after the lawsuit of about a dozen states within the North American nation, which opposed the tariff war.

Territories include Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York and Vermont.

In addition, according to the Xinhua news agency, the plaintiffs specified that the US president “had exceeded his authority by imposing import tariffs.”

ñ “The question that arises in the two cases before the court is whether the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (IEEPA) delegates these powers to the president in the form of authority to impose unlimited tariffs on products from almost every country in the world,” he stressed.
