Venezuela and Algeria set up Fifth Joint Commission to promote bilateral cooperation

In the city of Algiers, the Fifth Joint Commission between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria was installed this Wednesday, in order to promote agreements in areas of shared interest.
The Deputy Minister for Africa of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yuri Pimentel, stated during his participation that the ties between the two nations go beyond the institutional framework and respond to a common vision focused on sovereignty and self-determination.
On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, he ratified the Venezuelan Government's willingness to strengthen ties with States of the African continent and the Arab region, in accordance with the rules of international law.
On behalf of the Algerian Government, the director general for America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Hachemi, highlighted the importance of consolidating strategic relations and expressed his country's interest in moving forward with joint benefit projects.
After the opening, technical delegations formed sectoral groups to address initiatives in ecosocialism, administration of justice, cultural events, tourism promotion, public media, foreign trade, pharmaceutical industry, fishing activities, energy sources, education, applied science and transport.
