Venezuela and Belarus will raise their levels of parliamentary cooperation to join efforts and generate good practices, said the first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Pedro Infante.

During his meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus, Román Aleksándrovich Golóvchenko, this Monday, July 15, at the Federal Legislative Palace, Infante stated that Venezuela has created laws to protect its people from the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States.

In a press release from the AN, he mentioned as an example the Constitutional Anti-Blockade Law for National Development and the Guarantee of Human Rights, sanctioned by the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) in 2020. He also named the Bill for the Promotion of Non-Oil Exports, which will be submitted to a second discussion this Tuesday, July 16.

He stressed that both united nations are stronger and emphasized that, in 2013, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people after the planting of Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez.

For his part, the Prime Minister of Belarus indicated that the bilateral parliamentary agenda focuses on economic matters, metalworking, petrochemistry, science, technology and military technical cooperation, to promote joint projects aimed at improving the quality of life of peoples.

He rejected imperialism's attempts to undermine the independence of Belarus, whose country is characterized by promoting brotherly relations with Venezuela. He explained that they will not stop resisting the colonialist onslaught.

He welcomed the installation of the Venezuela-Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group in October 2023, and specified that a bilateral agreement on parliamentary cooperation will be signed in the coming months.

The second vice-president of the AN, deputy América Pérez, and the president of the Venezuela-Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group, deputy Mario Silva, participated in the activity.

The members of the group and the deputies María Gabriela Vega and Luisa Rodríguez also attended the meeting; as well as the Deputy Minister for Europe, Coromoto Godoy.
