Venezuela and Colombia discuss progress in Binational Economic Zones

The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, met this Wednesday with his counterpart from New Granada, Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, at the San Carlos Palace, Bogotá, Colombia, in order to continue promoting integration mechanisms that respond to concrete realities between the two nations.

“We held a meeting with Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, Foreign Minister (e) of Colombia, in which we reaffirmed our willingness to continue strengthening bilateral relations in all areas. In particular, we emphasize the importance of strengthening the Binational Economic Zone, in order to energize the economy and cross-border trade between our peoples,” said the Venezuelan foreign minister, through his Telegram channel.

The diplomat “expressed the support of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for the International Ministerial Emergency Conference on Palestine, held on July 15 and 16, “with the objective of implementing actions in support of Palestine.”

The meeting took place within the framework of the Ministerial Meeting, promoted by Colombia and South Africa within the framework of the Hague Group and was attended by the Deputy Minister of Multilateral Affairs, Mauricio Jaramillo Jassir; and the Ambassadors and Advisors of the Colombian Office, Luis Antonio Dimate and Rafael Orozco.

The Emergency Ministerial Conference on Palestine, held in Bogotá, Colombia, brought together more than 30 States, with the objective of providing an urgent and immediate response to the serious humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and in the territories occupied by the Israeli Zionist army.
