Venezuela and Colombia strengthen bilateral agenda after diplomatic meeting in Barquisimeto

Venezuela and Colombia are strengthening their bilateral agenda, after a meeting between the Deputy Minister for Latin America, Mauricio Rodríguez, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the neighboring country, Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, in Barquisimeto, Lara state.

During the meeting, the authorities addressed issues of common interest, such as consular, prison, infrastructure and transportation issues, among others.

In addition, both diplomats reiterated their governments' commitment to the advancement of the Neighborhood and Integration Commission, and to the strengthening of bilateral dialogue mechanisms.

Reopening of the Consulate in Barquisimeto

As part of the work agenda in Venezuela, Foreign Minister Villavicencio led the official reopening of the Colombian Consulate in Barquisimeto, in the west of the country.

This headquarters becomes the eighth consular office that the Government of President Gustavo Petro operates in Venezuela .

During the events of the reopening of the consular headquarters, the minister held a meeting with the Colombian diaspora living in the area, in which she listened to the needs of the community and highlighted the priority of continuing to strengthen the channels of support and consular care for her compatriots in Venezuela.
