This Tuesday, a business forum was held with representatives of the country's agri-food sector, at which the Minister of the People's Power of Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy, announced that Venezuela and Cuba are preparing to continue strengthening their trade relations, productive chain and investment.

It should be noted that this forum shared business opportunities in Cuba, from each to the holding of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV), which will be held from November 24 to 29 in Cuba, considered one of the most representative events in Latin America and the Caribbean that offers a space for commercial exchange between participating countries, in which everything done in Venezuela will be shown and, in turn, will be an expression of the multipolar world.

“Trade cannot be used as a weapon of extortion and this meeting is a strong message of sovereignty for the enemy that roams the Caribbean,” the minister stressed while stressing that Venezuela and Cuba promote fair, supportive and complementary trade that will leverage commercial development in the region.

On non-oil exports, Godoy reiterated that Venezuela is working to reduce time and simplify procedures. He also stressed that even in the context of trade war and unilateral coercive measures, the country complies with international regulations.

For his part, the designated ambassador of Cuba to Venezuela, Jorge Mayo, valued the holding of this event because of the characteristics of the current situation and the economic and productive advances in Venezuela, which means a good sign for the deepening of the bilateral economic and commercial relationship.

From an excellent virtual intervention from Havana, the vice-president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Tania Aguiar Fernández, presented the business opportunities.

The Venezuela pavilion at FIHAV 2025 was presented by the Deputy Minister of Export Promotion and president of Venexporta, Daniella Cabello, who anticipated a large share of the Venezuelan export supply in that prestigious regional business platform.

The Deputy Minister for the Caribbean, Raúl Li Causi, also spoke at the forum, who said that while there is an imperialist threat in the Caribbean, Venezuela and Cuba are building sovereign production and development projects. The president of Banco del Alba also pledged his support for these efforts.

During the meeting, Wilmar Castro Soteldo presented the experience of CINACAB, an investment, production and trade conglomerate that demonstrates the potential of the economic alliance between Venezuela and Cuba, in addition to the commitment to efficiency, transparency and agro-industrial development between the two sister countries.

“Venezuelan businessmen were encouraged to export and invest in different business models, with a transparent and agile payment system,” he invited.
