Venezuela and Equatorial Guinea reaffirmed their commitment to the defense of peace and the free development of peoples, basic principles of the Charter of the United Nations, the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, announced this Thursday through a post on his Telegram channel.
He explained that, during a telephone meeting with his Equatoguinean counterpart Simeón Oyono Esono Angue, they reviewed the “solid state of bilateral relations and we evaluated the progress of the projects and commitments established in the Second Joint Cooperation Commission between Equatorial Guinea and Venezuela, held in December 2024.”
The position of the pair of allied countries in defense of international law has been expressed in international settings, such as the 80th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), held last September in New York, in which the two foreign ministers spoke.
On that previous occasion, Gil and Esono Angue reaffirmed their shared commitment to promote global peace in the face of today's multiple threats, “keeping calm in the face of provocations and tirelessly defending the right to stability, sovereignty and peace in every corner of the world.”
