The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan deepened their bilateral cooperation ties this Sunday and established a work route to strengthen their relations.

After a meeting between the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, and his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, statements were offered to the media in which both diplomats expressed the intention of their nations to deepen cooperation in areas of common interest.

In this regard, the Venezuelan diplomat specified that among the issues addressed, the intention to specify cooperation in economic, commercial and business exchange matters stands out.

He noted that, at this time, “a new phase is beginning in relations between Venezuela and Jordan”; at the same time, he added that it represents a first step in “advancing a mechanism of political consultation, advancing the Joint Commission between the two countries and in business meetings.”

Venezuela is for Jordan the gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, and for Venezuela, Jordan will always be a fundamental point throughout this region,” said Foreign Minister Gil.

In addition, he said that Jordan has “a lot to contribute to the economic development of Venezuela, at this time when we are in a fundamental phase of growth.”

For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, stressed that this meeting made it possible to “identify steps that could improve and strengthen binational cooperation”.

He valued the meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart as a “good start. There are several opportunities, and there is a more than clear political will for us to continue working together to strengthen cooperation between our countries so that we can achieve good objectives for both.”
