The ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
accredited to the Republic of Kenya, Moravia Peralta Hernández, held a
meeting with the Vice President of Development and Training of the International Ringo Federation (FIR) of Kenya and member of the
International Ringo Sports Alliance, Francis Juma, to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation in the
sports field between the two countries
.
During the meeting, the Venezuelan diplomat emphasized that the Bolivarian Government's sports
policy is aimed at the
promotion and massification of sports as a social right and a
fundamental tool for the integral development of youth.
In this regard, he pointed out that the National Plan for Sports,
Physical Activity and Recreation 2025-2036, and the community and student programs
implemented by the Executive, have as their central axis the strengthening of the national
sports ecosystem with the systematic practice of physical activity from
schools, universities and communities, in order to promote values such as
discipline, solidarity and teamwork.
Ambassador Peralta Hernández pointed out that sport in
Venezuela is projected not only as a means for training
high-performance talent, but also as an instrument of social inclusion that
contributes to the development of individual capacities and the active
integration of young people into society.
For his part, Juma pointed out that ringo is a
net sport of Polish origin (it consists of throwing a rubber hoop over a net)
that is growing rapidly in Kenya.
He expressed interest in promoting an institutional approach
with Venezuelan sports authorities and organizations, in order to explore
opportunities for cooperation, exchange of good practices and development of joint
initiatives aimed at strengthening sports and training young athletes.
