Venezuela and Mexico coordinate actions to expand academic and diplomatic cooperation

Venezuela and Mexico are carrying out a work program aimed at strengthening professional training in the diplomatic field.

During a meeting held at the headquarters of the “Pedro Gual” Institute for Higher Diplomatic Studies (IAEDPG) in Caracas, the director, Tatiana Pugh Moreno, and representatives of the Venezuelan Embassy in Mexico, highlighted the objective of coordinating initiatives that promote cooperation between the IAEDPG and the “Matías Romero” Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Aztec nation throughout 2026.

The delegations analyzed proposals related to academic exchange, the design of joint training programs, the carrying out of research activities and the creation of spaces for permanent dialogue between the two institutions, with the aim of expanding the capacities of future diplomats, according to a press release from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

Pugh Moreno stressed that this coordination mechanism makes it possible to consolidate international cooperation ties and promote diplomacy based on knowledge and institutional coordination.

He also stated that these actions are part of the guidelines of Venezuelan foreign policy, based on the defense of sovereignty, self-determination, multilateralism and the protection of national interests.
