Venezuela and Mexico review agenda to strengthen scientific, technological and academic cooperation

The Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, held a meeting this Wednesday with the Mexican ambassador accredited to Venezuela, Leopoldo De Gyvés, to review the bilateral agenda of cooperation between the two nations in the scientific, technological and academic fields.

The minister and also rector of the National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán explained that, during the meeting, “the agenda to receive students from Mexico in May of this year, who will join the National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán, was evaluated, in compliance with the commitments made during our visit to the city of Morelos in 2025.”

Within the framework of InnovaFEST LATAM 2025, held in Morelos last December, the National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán (UNC) and the National Technological Institute of Mexico (TecNM) formalized an agreement for academic, scientific and technological cooperation, aimed at strengthening strategic areas for the development of both countries.

Similarly, according to a press release, the minister indicated that in the meeting with Ambassador Gyvés, Mexico's participation in a forum that is scheduled to be held in March in Venezuela, focused on different areas of information security and quantum computing, was addressed.

As part of this bilateral agenda, Minister Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez explained, “the strengthening of cooperation in cybersecurity with Mexico's Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency (ATDT)” was discussed.

He indicated that these meetings are part of the Bolivarian Government's agenda for the development of the Homeland.
