Regarding his coincidence at the 30th UN Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP30), held in Belém - Brazil, the People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a meeting this Thursday with the president of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
Through his Telegram channel, the foreign minister explained that he thanked the people and Government of Namibia for their solidarity in the face of military threats against Venezuela, while diplomatic and cooperation relations were reaffirmed, “as well as our mutual commitment to peace, sovereignty and multilateralism.”
Caracas and Windhoek have maintained diplomatic relations since May 22, 1990, characterized by respect for internal decisions and solidarity, such as Namibia's rejection of the military aggressions carried out by the United States Government in the Caribbean.
At the end of last September, Gil met in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, whom he thanked for his country's historic position “in the defense of peoples against aggressions, occupations and blockades”.
The COP30 brings together representatives from more than 195 countries, who will evaluate progress in action against the climate crisis, with a special focus on the Amazon.
