The ambassador of the State of Qatar to Venezuela, Salman Nabit Mubarak, expressed his unconditional support for the Venezuelan people. “We bring words of hope and solidarity. We are very grateful to President Delcy Rodríguez for allowing us to collaborate with humanitarian aid and rescue teams,” he said.
During a tour of the field hospital with the President in Charge, the ambassador stressed that a team of 160 specialists arrived in Venezuela from Qatar, “who today join this joint effort.”
For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, reported that, as part of the comprehensive response to families affected by earthquakes, 13 field hospitals have been installed in the country, with the participation of health personnel from more than 20 nations.
“These teams have been extraordinarily integrated with our public system workers. This type 1 hospital, kindly donated by Qatar, represents a legacy that will strengthen our operational capacity. Patients in temporary camps who require specialized tests will be transferred to this center, which operates with joint Qatari and Venezuelan staff,” said Alvarado.
This health center was achieved thanks to the establishment of a humanitarian airlift ordered by His Highness Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, with the primary objective of helping the affected populations.
In this effort, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has played a key role in coordinating, together with the Qatar Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and the state fund, the provision and installation of this medical infrastructure, which includes 50 full hospital beds to expand clinical services.
It has an operational capacity to treat up to 320 people per day in its treatment room, in addition to performing 420 diagnostic projections in its X-ray unit, it has a team of 27 high-level specialists, including surgeons, ophthalmologists, general practitioners and paramedics.
