Venezuela and Saudi Arabia strengthen ties to boost bilateral tourism

The Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello , held a meeting with the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Venezuela, Abdullah Muhammad Al Saihani , with the objective of strengthening bilateral cooperation in tourism.
During
the meeting, both authorities evaluated the possible signing of a Memorandum of
Understanding between the ministries of tourism of both countries, in addition
to exploring alliances with the Arab Tourism Association to promote Venezuelan
tourism in markets in the Middle East and North Africa.
The
agenda also included proposals for educational cooperation between the
National Tourism Institute (INATUR) and the Saudi Tourism Authority, focused on training
programs and technical training.
The parties also reviewed initiatives to exchange experiences between the Venezuelan Tourism
Agency (VENETUR) and its Saudi counterpart, as well as possible academic
links between the National University of Tourism and the Faculty of Tourism and Archaeology of the King
Saud University.
The minister also extended an official invitation to the Saudi delegation
to participate in the Venezuela International Tourism Fair 2026 (FITVEN),
an event that will bring together national and international representatives of the sector.
Diplomatic relations between Caracas and Riyadh have been maintained since 1952 and cover areas such as energy, agriculture, trade and tourism. Both countries are also part of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.
