Venezuela and Suriname hold expanded meeting to advance joint work agenda

The delegations of both countries developed working groups in areas of common interest

The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yván Gil, held an expanded meeting this Friday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cooperation of Suriname, Melvin Bouva, in which they shared an assessment of the work agenda developed by the visiting foreign minister since his arrival in the country.

From the spaces of the “Antonio José de Sucre” Yellow House in Caracas, delegations from both countries developed working groups in areas of common interest, aimed at strengthening ties of strategic cooperation, complementarity and friendship.

The Venezuelan representation was also made up of the ministers of the Popular Power of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, and for Transportation, Jacqueline Fária ; the Deputy Minister of International Tourism, Marcos Medina; the Deputy Minister of Gas, Cinry Rondón; and the rector of the Venezuelan Hydrocarbons University, Celia Bejarano.

While the delegation of the Caribbean country was composed of the ambassador to Venezuela, Georgette García; the permanent secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Parveen Amritpersad; the permanent undersecretary for Bilateral Affairs, Sachi Soekhoe; and the advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cooperation, Abigael D. Daal.

This meeting not only consolidates an agenda of bilateral cooperation under the principles of mutual respect and solidarity, but it also begins a new phase of relationship between the two nations.
