Venezuela and the IAEA make progress in technical cooperation in the field of nuclear technology and knowledge

The Minister of Science and Technology, Yván Gil, and the Section Chief of the Technical Cooperation Division for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Raúl Ramírez García, held a meeting to advance technical cooperation in the field of nuclear technology and knowledge for peaceful purposes.

According to the minister, through his Telegram channel, during the meeting both authorities discussed the importance of increasing educational exchange for our scientific community in atomic energy, focused on medical, industrial and research applications and microbiological sterilization.

“We also discussed the provision of equipment for the use of atomic energy in our country, especially in the health sector. We agree on the great potential that Venezuela has to mobilize radioactive sources safely and with effective automated monitoring,” said the minister.
