The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tran Luu Quang, made a wreath this Thursday to the Liberator Simon Bolivar, at the National Pantheon in Caracas, in connection with the working visit of the senior Asian official.

The Vietnamese authority's work agenda in Caracas includes meetings with senior representatives of the Venezuelan State.

Soon, the Fourth High-Level Intergovernmental Joint Commission Venezuela - Vietnam - chaired by the Office of the Presidency, headed by Minister Jorge Márquez - is scheduled to be held, which will allow both parties to specify plans, projects and agreements for mutual development.

Officially, diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Vietnam were established on December 18, 1989. However, ties of friendship and cooperation were forged years ago in the midst of the war of liberation and unification of Hanoi in 1964.

Since the visit of the Commander of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, to Vietnam in 2006, the indisputable political empathy and multisectoral cooperation between the two republics has been consolidated at the highest level, as a result of the shared geostrategic vision of building a multicentric and multipolar world.

This vision is continued by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, who is following the path of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy with Vietnam, thanks to inalienable principles, such as independence and sovereignty, which have led to the conclusion of bilateral cooperation agreements in different areas.

Caracas and Hanoi frequently hold bilateral meetings and exchanges, including visits from high-level leaders of both peoples, whose independence struggles were and continue to be guided by the great liberators: Ho Chi Minh and Simon Bolivar.
