Venezuela and Vietnam strengthen bilateral alliance

The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a meeting this Monday with the ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam accredited in Caracas, Vu Trung My, in which they agreed on the importance of strengthening diplomatic, political and strategic ties, as well as promoting the defense of fundamental principles such as foreign non-interference in the internal affairs of States, the self-determination of peoples and peace.

Through a publication on his Telegram channel, the foreign minister specified that the meeting aimed to “review and strengthen our bilateral alliance, as well as to discuss our joint position on various issues of regional geopolitical interest”.

The minister stressed that Venezuela and Vietnam maintain a solid and sincere friendship, based on mutual respect, cooperation and the shared vision of a more just international order.

The meeting ratified the commitment of both countries to continue working together to consolidate an alliance that results in benefits for their peoples.

Caracas and Hanoi established diplomatic relations on December 18, 1989.
