The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, arrived this Monday, May 11, in the Republic of Uganda to represent Venezuela at the inauguration of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for a seventh term at the head of the East African nation.

On his Telegram channel, he highlighted that Museveni's tenure in the pro tempore presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement confirms the political stability and regional leadership of a country allied with Venezuela.

Jiménez emphasized that this diplomatic meeting seeks to deepen mutual solidarity and raise the flags of sovereignty in the face of global challenges.

Upon arrival, the Venezuelan delegation was received by the Minister of State for Internal Relations, Kania Mario Obiga, with whom it held a high-level meeting to review the pillars of bilateral cooperation initiated in 1970.

Both authorities evaluated the progress made in the installation of the First Venezuela-Uganda Joint Commission aimed at strengthening agreements in strategic sectors.

The minister stressed that ties between Uganda and Venezuela have been significantly strengthened during the Bolivarian Revolution through an agenda based on complementarity and self-determination.

The work agenda entrusted by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, prioritizes the consolidation of joint projects in vital areas such as science and technology to promote shared development.

Jiménez thanked Uganda for its firm rejection of unilateral coercive measures affecting the Venezuelan people, reaffirming its commitment to South-South cooperation.

For the Bolivarian Government, the alliance with Kampala represents a fundamental step in the construction of an independent scientific architecture and in the necessary decolonization of knowledge.
