The Venezuelan softball team started the final phase of the World Cup very well, after defeating Argentina 1-0, at the Prince Albert stadium in Canada, thanks to the hard work of starter Maiker Pimentel.

The Venezuelan race came in the top of the sixth inning after a ticket to Pedro Flores, the sacrifice of Alfredo Aguila r and the single tugboat of Erwin Díaz, who went all the way to second base, but that's where the Creole threat would go.

However, the most valuable player would be Pimentel, who covered the seven regulatory chapters in which he allowed only five hits.

According to the official schedule, the Venezuelan team will now face Canada and tomorrow against New Zealand, two duels in which they could define their way to the next final round.

It is important to note that the two best in each group will enter a Super Round to determine who qualifies for the Grand Final, which is scheduled to take place next Sunday, July 13.

In group B, Australia, the reigning champion, the United States, Japan and the Dominican Republic are fighting for a place in the semifinal in which each team will have two more clashes.
