The Venezuelan national team (2-1) beat the group leader, New Zealand (2-1), 7-1 in this crucial World Cup match that was played at Prince Albert's Prime Ministers' Park Field I.

Engelbert Herrera hit a home run and drove in four runs in Venezuela's 7-2 win over New Zealand, closing his first round of the World Cup. Kleiver Rodríguez also hit home runs for the winning team.

Maiker Pimentel threw all the way for Venezuela, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out at 10. He won his second victory of the competition.

For New Zealand, Thomas Enoka and Cole Evans hit home runs for the only two runs of the game. The losing pitcher was Pita Rona, who threw 2.2 innings and allowed three runs and three hits.

Both teams finished Group A with a 2-1 record.
