Venezuela beat the Dominican Republic 11-1 at the start of Pan American Baseball 5, which began this Wednesday at the Bolivarian Dome in Barquisimeto.

Jhoncleivi Gutiérrez led the offensive of the youth national team, after going 6-5 with six RBIs and three scored, helped by Henyelbert Graterol who backed him up by hitting 5-4 and three steps on the plate, and Angely Molina who went 6-3 with a trio of trailers.

The Venezuelan attack began in the first episode, when Graterol stepped on the plate, towed by a roll to the Molina painting.

The advantage was extended in the next chapter with six scores, thanks to a pair of undisputed tugs from Gutiérrez, who also scored a couple of lines per single and round for Molina.

At the close of the third, Maicker Fuertes connected unstoppably to boost Gutiérrez, who soon after launched another rocket to bring Molina and Graterol to the plate.

Dominicana broke the zero with a single score in the fourth inning, where they combined singles by Melany Vázquez and Ángelo Peña, but Venezuela sealed the victory with a single from Molina for the eleventh race in the legs of David Alvarado.

In other games on the opening day of the Youth Pan American Championship, Puerto Rico beat Argentina 7-2 and Mexico beat Peru 15-1
