The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela celebrates with joy and firm commitment the 75th anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, reaffirming the historic ties of brotherhood and cooperation between our peoples.
President Nicolás Maduro Moros conveys his joy at this commemoration to President Taye Atske-Selassie and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, reiterating Venezuela's full will to continue promoting an agenda of strategic cooperation, with projects in areas such as air connectivity, agriculture, energy and education, among others, for the benefit of our sister peoples.
A symbol of anti-colonial resistance and the first country in Mother Africa with which Venezuela formalized diplomatic relations, Ethiopia shares with us inalienable principles such as sovereignty, self-determination and the search for unity in the Global South.
Inspired by the legacy of giants such as Menelik II, The Liberator Simon Bolivar and Commander Hugo Chávez, who always emphasized the strategic role of Africa in the new world order, we will continue to advance a joint agenda that consolidates a just, multicentric and multipolar world.
May Venezuela and Ethiopia live forever united for peace, solidarity and South-South cooperation!
