Venezuela commemorates the 50th anniversary of the terrorist attack on commercial aircraft in 1976

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela pays a heartfelt tribute to the memory of the 73 people who lost their lives in the criminal terrorist attack perpetrated on October 6, 1976 against a commercial flight, marking 50 years of impunity and pain for the families of the victims.

Through an official statement released by the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, the Venezuelan Government reaffirmed its firm commitment to keeping the historical memory alive in the face of this atrocious crime committed by sectors financed and protected by imperial structures against innocent civilians.

The official commemoration emphasizes the country's constant condemnation of all forms of international terrorism, recalling the legacy and dignity of the athletes, diplomats and crew members who were traveling in the destroyed aircraft in mid-flight after taking off from Barbados to Havana.
