The Venezuelan Fencing Federation defined the roster that will compete in the Adult Pan American Championship, scheduled in Lima from June 15 to 20 and qualifying for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.
The classification system in Peruvian territory will allow only eight teams to advance per weapon and, with Peru already registered as the host country, Venezuelan teams must be among the best seven in America to ensure their presence in the continental event, according to a press release from the Ministry of Sport.
The men's sword will lead the delegation and will win the Pan-American team title, while Rubén Limardo, Francisco Limardo, Jesús Limardo and Grabiel Lugo will commit to defending the crown.
The women's sword will consist of Lizze Asís, Eliana Lugo, María Martínez and Betyumil Posada and will continue the qualifying round with a view to adding places for the next continental season.
In sabre, the women's team will perform with Katherine Paredes, Andrea Moros, Yesimar Aponte and Ariana Prieto and, in the men's category, Eliecer Romero, José Félix Quintero, Simón Durán and Marcel Medina will compete.
The women's foil will feature Anabella Acurero, Isis Giménez, Hillary Avelleira and Bárbara Manrique and, for men, Janderson Briceño, José Briceño, César Aguirre and Samuel Flores will be looking for places.
