Through an official statement, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulated the People of Barbados for the successful holding of their general elections.

The message published on the Telegram account of the Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, reaffirms the Venezuelan will to continue strengthening cooperation and friendship with this nation.

Below is the full text of the statement:

We congratulate the people of Barbados on the successful holding of their general elections, and we extend our congratulations to Prime Minister Mia Mottley for the renewed confidence of her people. We reaffirm our will to continue strengthening cooperation, friendship and unity in the Caribbean and Latin America; moving forward together for peace, development and integration in our region.

The President-in-Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez Gomez, on behalf of the people and the national Government, congratulate the people and Government of Barbados for the successful holding of the general elections on February 11, 2026, a process that took place in a climate of peace, democratic participation and institutional stability, in which the Barbados Labor Party (BLP), led by Prime Minister Mia Mottley, was re-elected for a third consecutive term of government.

The electoral results reflect the democratic participation of the Barbadian people and consolidate Barbados as a solid, sovereign and independent republic, an active member of the regional system of Latin America and the Caribbean, which will continue to contribute to the construction of unity and cooperation in our region.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates its willingness to continue strengthening relations of friendship, mutual respect and cooperation with Barbados, for the benefit of both sister peoples, the maintenance of peace and the promotion of regional union.
