The following is the full text of the statement:
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan People and Government, extends his deepest and most fraternal congratulations to President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and the heroic people of Cuba, as the 67th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution is commemorated today, January 1, 2026, in the framework of the centenary of the birth of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.
Evoking this memorable heroic feat that opened an irreversible horizon of dignity, sovereignty and social justice for Cuba and for all of Our America, the drums of emancipation resonate with the strength of 67 years of victories, guided by the strategic vision and infinite courage of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, who, inspired by the ideology of José Martí, entered Santiago de Cuba triumphantly to free the majority from colonial domination and imperial oppression of the Caribbean Antilles.
That dawn of 1959 not only represented a new dawn for our sister Cuba, it was the birth of hope that ignited the torch of dignity and hope for all the peoples of Our America and the world who are fighting for their definitive independence.
Venezuela and Cuba, united by the historical legacy of Bolivar and Marti, and sealed by the unbreakable brotherhood of the Commanders, Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, confirm today more than ever, in the face of grotesque imperial pretensions to violate sovereignty with blockades and aggressions to besiege our Caribbean, their unrenounceable commitment to continue traveling together as sister nations, on the path of defending sovereignty, peace, socialism and bel right of our peoples to build their own destiny without guardianship or imposition.
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela reiterates its admiration for the people of Cuba, an example of dignity, humanism and revolutionary strength.
