Venezuela congratulates Serbia on the celebration of its National Day

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, expressed his congratulations to the people and the Government of Serbia on the occasion of the celebration of their National Day, commemorated every February 15.

“On behalf of the Bolivarian Government, we join the celebration of Serbia's National Day, which is commemorated on February 15, the date on which the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire began in 1804,” he said through his Telegram channel.

He also stressed that this day is also important for the People of Serbia because it also commemorates the adoption of the first Serbian Constitution in 1835, known as the Constitution of Sretenje.

In this context, he highlighted the historical value of the Serbian revolution and reaffirmed his recognition of the independence and sovereignty achieved by the European nation.

“Venezuela extends its congratulations to the people and Government of Serbia in this celebration of the independence and sovereignty achieved thanks to the Serbian revolution,” he said.
