Venezuela congratulates the President of Burundi, Évariste Ndayishimiye, who assumed the Pro Tempore Presidency of the African Union, in recognition of his leadership in Mother Africa.

The information was provided by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, on his account on the social network Telegram, in which he said: “We thank Pdte. @ joaolourenco and to the people of Angola for their tireless work at the head of the block over the past year, promoting just causes in the Global South.”

“For Venezuela, the African Union is key to defending International Law, the UN Charter and the fight against neocolonialism. In the face of conflicts and inequality, the union of Africa and Our America is essential,” said the foreign minister.
