The Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs published the letter sent to the Salvadoran Foreign Ministry in response to the note issued by this Central American country showing violations of international treaties and laws regarding the treatment they carry out against Venezuelan migrants kidnapped by the government presided over by Nayib Bukele.
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela considers that this note constitutes, in effect, an express confession of serious violations of international human rights law, as well as of the commission of acts that could be classified as international criminal actions,” the statement reads.
In the letter dated this Tuesday, Venezuela demands the unconditional release of all Venezuelan migrants deported from the United States to torture centers in El Salvador because they are illegally detained, and it also rejected the proposal to exchange kidnapped persons for citizens serving time for crimes such as attempted assassination or terrorism.
