The Minister of Popular Petroleum Power, Pedro Rafael Tellechea, participated this Friday in the 26th Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the Summit of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF), which is taking place in Algeria.

According to information issued by the company Petrleos de Venezuela during his speech, the minister specified that “energy markets are going through a complex situation, which, in large part, is created by anti-market measures and unilateral coercive measures imposed by some imperial countries against energy exporting countries.”

In this regard, he stressed the importance of the union of energy supplier countries, “whose importance is vital for the social and economic development of the peoples of the world. Energy security is fundamental to the functioning of modern society, so the crisis in energy markets has an impact on the economy and social stability.”

He specified that the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the Government of the United States “have affected a series of projects to strengthen the gas sector”, however, he stressed that even so, “since the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons have been arranged at the service of humanity for the development of peoples, under the framework of respect and the win-win relationship”.
