This Monday, March 9th, the Minister of the People's Power of Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy, participated in a virtual meeting of the Friends of Special Products in Agriculture (G-33), in which the challenges faced by countries of the Global South were addressed.

Venezuela's participation in this group of the (World Trade Organization) WTO confirms the country's commitment and presence before multilateral organizations to jointly address the challenges faced by countries of the Global South,” indicates a post on the Instagram account of the aforementioned ministerial body.

The meeting was led by the Director General of the WTO, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The purpose of this meeting was the development of agriculture, with an emphasis on the protection of small producers.

The G-33 has 47 member countries, including China, Cuba, Dominica, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Jamaica and Türkiye.
