Venezuela participated in the presentation of the UN's annual report in Suriname

The Venezuelan ambassador to Suriname, Ayerim Flores Rivas, participated in the presentation of the Annual Results Report of the United Nations (UN) 2024, an event organized by the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in that nation, together with the Surinamese Foreign Ministry.
This event, reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, details the efforts and collective contributions of 16 United Nations agencies, funds and programs operating in the Republic of Suriname.
In addition, it provides an overview of the work carried out by UN agencies jointly carried out with the management of the government of Suriname and civil society organizations.
The event was chaired by the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Paramaribo, Joanna Kazana, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and International Cooperation, Albert Ramdin; who offered his opening remarks to the public present.
Subsequently, the results of the cooperation in key areas for the country were presented, such as: sharing economy, resilience to climate change and sustainable management of natural resources by Berdi Berdiyev, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP.
The presentation on the Equality and Welfare projects was given by the UNFPA Liaison Officer in Suriname, Judith Brielle.
Meanwhile, the presentation on peace, security, justice and the rule of law and migration for development was given by Jan-Willem Wegdam, coordinator of the IOM Program in Paramaribo.
Suriname is one of the countries receiving funding for sustainable projects in the region, aimed at eradicating poverty, protecting the environment and raising the basic living standards of the population.
