The ambassador representing the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations based in Geneva, Alexander Yánez, described this Wednesday as a “propaganda pamphlet” the report presented by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on the South American nation.

“The report presented to us today, two days before our independence and 25 days before the presidential elections in our country, is nothing more than a propaganda pamphlet carefully written to encourage the fascist opposition in Venezuela,” Yánez said during his speech at the international body.

Yánez criticized that some representatives of opposition extremism were in the room, stressing that they are “the surnames responsible for burning people alive, burning schools and murdering Venezuelans”, who “came to campaign with their report.”

In this regard, he stressed that Venezuela does not recognize the document presented, “firstly because its mandate was the result of a resolution drafted by the United States and subordinates, whose purpose was to execute the disastrous policy of regime change in Venezuela, and secondly, the report was prepared with an erratic methodology based on politically motivated information, which disqualifies it in itself.”

“To say that a group of terrorists of American nationality, members of a company based in the United States, hired by the opposition to assassinate the President of the Republic, terrorists who were captured in flagrante delicto in Venezuelan territory entering from Colombia in speedboats with high-caliber weapons of war and that their office says that they were arbitrarily arrested is something at least unusual,” he repudiated.

On the other hand, Yánez condemned the document's intention to minimize or even ignore the serious harm caused to the human rights of the Venezuelan people by the criminal sanctions imposed by the United States.

The Permanent Representative stressed that on July 28, the day of the presidential elections in Venezuela, the people will vote against the 930 imposed unilateral coercive measures, the theft of gold by the Bank of England and the company CITGO by the United States, and will win peace and stability, while the empire and the opposition already have their communication machinery ready to shout fraud.

The People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, said that it is “very difficult to establish any technical cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner, as long as they persist in their biased position of protecting right-wing extremism that seeks to continue curtailing the rights of Venezuelans.”

In his X account, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister criticized “the insolent presence of Venezuelan fascism, protected and protected by a biased system, which acts as a Campaign Command for the surnames that burned people alive and promoted invasions of our country”, while once again denouncing the instrumentalization of the Human Rights Council.
