The Foreign Minister of
the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, ratified this Friday the country's
willingness to join the tasks aimed at
building the new world order through the BRICS, a block to which the South American
nation aspires to join as a full member at the next Summit, to be held from October 22 to 23 in Kazan,
Russia.
During his
speech at the “BRICS: Multipolar World Under Construction” Forum, Foreign Minister
Gil detailed the important alliances that Venezuela has promoted, such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the
Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR
), among
other mechanisms of
integration.
“We say this with great
humility but also with great pride, Venezuela has been building a
series of important alliances that fit perfectly with what the
principles of the BRICS are,” said the diplomat, highlighting the experiences
that the Bolivarian Government can bring to the block.
He pointed out that “everyone sees
Venezuela as a country with the largest
oil reserves, but that is not our main contribution in this construction of a
new multicentric and multipolar world, our main contribution is the adherence to the principles of all these mechanisms and we are going to
collaborate as a party arm,” he emphasized.
In this regard,
Gil pointed out that Venezuela, “as a State and as a Bolivarian Government, has the
will to actively incorporate itself into all the
tasks entrusted to it in the construction of a New World Order, in the construction
of a new one or the new tasks that they entrust to the BRICS in the future.”
